Residential Wind Turbine

This is the case of wind energy and in particular Residential Wind Turbine technology. Previously, we used this source of energy to pump water or to cast wheat to make into flour. Today, this energy source is still used to pump water but it is mainly used to generate electricity, without any adverse effect on the environment.

The increase in operating costs of nuclear power and fossil fuels have enabled the wind to become more competitive. With the cost of energy sources, such as the burning of coal and other resources are extremely high, countries are obliged, by itself to other choices, more renewable sources of energy for their own needs. The energy of wind is the first to solve the current energy shortage trends. In order to develop the wind, we must work on a concept known as the kinetic energy. While many wind projects have been rejected in many areas such as the Cape Cod wind energy project other regions connect with these technologies.

Production of wind energy from wind power: the process is viable, but we must accept it and the technology to twist to the maximum of the language pending, the Mother Nature. This process is natural and easy, but a tremendous amount of energy. We then convert to electricity with wind turbines in average. Some tips for the production of wind energy: 1. the advantage of offshore wind energy has to do with the frequency and the generation of wind. 2. It also knows, with the wind in the sea to avoid the cost of buying space on the earth pricey. 3. Given this situation, ideal for wind farms are often along the coast or in the valleys funneling winds from the coast.

Wind energy has been used for a long time. It is obtained when the wind pushes against a propeller slightly bent. It forces the whole turn and pump water or turns a generator to produce electricity. There are two types of wind turbines, the turbines vertical axis and horizontal axis. Most wind turbines are horizontal. They have certain disadvantages, between others, the generator is located at the top of the tower, which makes it difficult to maintain and repair.

The vertical wind turbine, developed by Canadians, has several advantages. First access to the generator and major mechanical components are located at the foot of the tower. Moreover, no system to guide the turbine in the wind direction is required. This turbine is still developing, but it is expected that when fully operational, it will be a significant commercial significance

Wind energy is extracted from the wind through a turbine and then converted into electricity through a generator. The current generator is sinusoidal and when plugged into the electricity grid, it is necessary that its frequency is the same as the electrical grid, or 60 Hertz. As the speed of the engine determines the frequency of the current generation, it is necessary that the engine runs at a constant speed. Therefore, a lot of energy is not extracted from the wind.

Today, it is very important that a device operates at a high yield. The same principle applies to wind turbines. Meanwhile, researchers have discovered that it is possible to extract more energy from the wind in correcting sinusoidal current to obtain a current. Then, with the help of a converter, DC is transformed back into sinusoidal current but with a fixed frequency of 60 Hertz. This means that the turbine can turn almost any speed and extract more energy. Although the converter is often very complex and costly, the energy gain is worth the effort.

In order for a wind turbine is economically viable, it must be installed in a region where the winds blow so intense. It is often advisable to conduct a study in the region to determine the potential strength and the height of the wind for a whole year. The regions along the ocean as well as open spaces are usually ideal for extracting energy. In northern Canada, systems are in place to generate electricity.

As the grid is not present in all communities, a diesel generator with a wind turbine is often used. This reduces operating costs of diesel. Wind energy also includes disadvantages including the unpredictability of the wind. For this reason, power companies have the great difficulty with this energy source. Usually, a wind turbine is installed with a diesel generator or simply connected to the grid. The wind turbine cannot operate alone.

The appearance of the residential wind turbine is very important. The turbines are often very near the home and must be visually complementary. Some of the smaller unit are being mounted to the roof and are no more obtrusive than a TV antenna.
